Customised probiotics

Probiotics are living organisms that, in adequate amounts, can have a beneficial effect on our health and positively influence the development of the gut microbiome. Safe and tested “friendly” bacteria that naturally inhabit our digestive tract are used as probiotic cultures.

We recommend storing both opened and unopened bottles in the refrigerator (at 4-8 °C). Always make sure that the bottle is properly closed. Live probiotics will survive both short and long-term transportation without any problems, as long as they are not exposed to sunlight or too humid environments. In extreme conditions, you can store live probiotics, for example, in a cooling box, which will keep them at a stable and necessary temperature. Improper storage may cause a decrease in live probiotic bacteria. 

From a legislative point of view, probiotics are considered dietary supplements.

From a legislative point of view, probiotics are not suitable for children under 3 years of age, pregnant and breastfeeding women. If your child is older than 3 years of age, probiotics can be used. 

In our bacterial cultures bank, we have several dozen different species of probiotic bacteria belonging to the Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus genera, which make up the largest part of the custom probiotic mix. In some cases, we also add Streptococcus or Enterococcus to the probiotic mix.

Probiotics may be associated with some partial risks, such as hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, etc. Most probiotic strains are found in the human digestive tract under physiological circumstances, and these strains normally do not pose any risk to their host. Some people experience side effects when taking probiotics, such as digestive problems – constipation, flatulence, bloating, diarrhoea. These adverse reactions usually disappear within a few days or weeks as your body gets used to the probiotic bacteria. If you suffer from specific conditions such as SIBO or histamine intolerance, inappropriately chosen probiotic strains can worsen your condition.

Custom probiotics are safe for people with lactose intolerance, milk protein and gluten allergies. The product does not come into contact with milk and is completely safe. It contains lactic acid bacteria, which, unlike milk protein, are not an allergen. Custom probiotics are free of dairy, soy, corn, wheat and gluten. If you are still not sure, consult your doctor about the possible use of probiotics.

Yes, a large number of studies have been conducted regarding the effects of probiotic supplementation, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. For each client, we assess the structure of the microbiome individually, taking into account the bacterial groups typical for certain anamnesis. After analysing the sample and evaluating the client’s questionnaire, we prepare tailor-made probiotics.

The analysis is a condition of the probiotic treatment. It is necessary to analyse the sample and process it so that the resulting probiotics are truly tailored. Therefore, this option is not available.

The gut microbiome is a highly variable community. It is constantly influenced by various internal factors, such as diet, stress, physical activity, antibiotic treatment, or external factors, such as the microbiomes of other people, animals and the environment that we encounter daily. In a study of fecal transplantation in patients with recurrent Clostridium difficile infection , it was found that although the donor microbiome is identical to the recipient's microbiome the day after FMT, during the following 84 days of patient sampling, the microbiome lives its own life, and eventually becomes completely different from the donor. Similarly, with individual probiotic supplementation, it is necessary to maintain a healthy, varied diet to achieve permanent changes in the microbiome. Individual probiotic supplementation will start changes in the microbiome, help maintain these changes, but your diet is absolutely crucial for maintaining positive changes in the long term.

Unfortunately, food intolerances cannot be recognised from microbiome analysis. We also do not analyse fungi, parasites or yeast and focus exclusively on bacteria. From the results of the analysis, you will learn how diverse your gut microbiome is and what percentage of friendly and hostile bacteria it contains.
